Okta Integrator Free Plan org configurations

This document provides reference details on the default configurations for the Integrator Free Plan orgs. These orgs are available from https://developer.okta.com/signup/.

Integrator Free Plan orgs are great for developers who want to build and test with Okta. You also need an Integrator Free Plan org if you want to submit to the Okta Integration Network (OIN). See the Okta Integration Network.

Sign up for an Integrator Free Plan org

  1. Go to Okta Sign up (opens new window), and in the Okta Workforce Identity tile, select Sign up for Integrator Free Plan.
  2. Enter your name, location, and a business email address to create a free Integrator Free Plan org.

You receive a verification email with your org domain name after sign up. Also included is a link to activate your account and set up your password and other authenticators.

Integrator Free Plan org features

The Integrator Free Plan org is provisioned with the features in the following table. If you require other features or functionality, contact Okta Support or your account representative.

Feature Description
SSO (Single Sign-On) Provides capabilities to incorporate SSO authentication for your users. See Build a Single Sign-On (SSO) Integration.
UD (Universal Directory) Stores and manages your user information. See What is the Okta Universal Directory.
AMFA (Adaptive Multifactor Authentication) Provides capabilities to implement authentication based on risk. See Authentication factors.
LCM (Lifecycle Management) Manages the process of access to apps and resources over the lifecycle of a user. See Overview of lifecycle management in the OIN.
API AM (API Access Management) Enables secure access control for your APIs using OAuth 2.0 and OIDC. See API Access Management with Okta.
Workflows Automates identity business processes without code. See Okta Workflows (opens new window)

Integrator Free Plan org limitations

The Integrator Free Plan org has the following limitations:

Availability Integrator free plan orgs don't expire. However, orgs deactivate after 180 days of inactivity unless you submit an app to the OIN

Email templates Unavailable for editing
Email automation Not available
Rate limits Limited per-minute rate limits. See Management rate limits.
Sign-up email An Integrator free plan organization requires a unique business sign-up email. You can't use the same sign-up email for multiple organizations.

Note: Some email addresses can't be used to sign up for the Integrator Free Plan orgs based on user location and other security considerations. Contact Okta Support for more information.

Okta Developer Edition org updates

The Integrator Free Plan orgs replace the previous Okta Developer Edition service orgs. If you’re using an Okta Developer Edition service org, sign up for a new org. You can also migrate your existing org to the Integrator Free Plan org. For further details, see Okta Blog Post (opens new window).
